YO PEEPS! in the airport now!!! : D using the wireless connection here! (for 10 EUROS OMG, but hey, we've been so internet deprived for so longgg!) anyway im supposed to keep this short, so here's the first entry i typed out from the hotel:

YAYEEE i can blog all the way from HOLLAND aka the NETHERLANDS aka AMSTERDAM. (: actually im not really so sure abt the correlation of those three but whatever, IM HERE :DD
the flight was 12 hours long : O but it didn't feel that long since there were movies to watch and i was able to sleep for a couple of hours, though restless mostly. before taking off, i was messaging people that i'd miss them and all that. and i miss them already! ): but haha, i was sneaking behind the flight attendants coz we were about to taxi and all that. : P
anYwayyy! it was quite cold when we arrived. BRRRR. must be coz some people weren't around..? kidding. reached the hotel and dumped our heavy luggage. my suitcase thingy sucks! D: it's so unsteady and keeps toppling over when i lug it over bumpy roads!!! and the sidewalks here aren't exactly smooth yknow! it was so hilarious when we were crossing the street where the tram was supposed to pass by. we were dashing across, baggage in hand (10 in total! : O), and then suddenly my suitcase topples and i have to stop and make it upright!! : P i looked crazy coz i was laughing away hahahha! what if the tram came and rammed me to my death! HAHAH. :D
had lunch at burger king next and i was super hungry!!! btw the time difference here is 6 hours. we're 6 hrs behind you guys. so that time it was 12 noon local time and 6 PM singapore time. i was starving my socks off! HAHAHAHA. : D guess what? fastfood restaurants and old train stations don't really go together. LOLZ. as in it looked funny coz there was a huge burger king sign by the platform of a really old, dull-looking train station. GLOBALISATION! YEAH! HAHAHH which reminds me, i think my class is having GP now! : P anyway i think there's a picture of it in my sister's blog.. :D and the food was EXPENSIVE. about S$40 in total for the whole family (there's 5 of us). which means around $8 each!!! D: i could've bought Carl's Jr instead! LOLZ.
guess what? this dude asked me for directions!!! : O haha. first thing he said was "do you speak english?" and so before i could say i wasn't from around here, a "YES" popped outta my mouth. i dont think he's from around here, but he's european from his accent. then he asked me whether i knew where platform 13a was, and i said "no, sorry :/"! then later i found out that we were headed for the same platform! : O HAHAH!
took the train to madurodam and magic ice world. i smsed evan and huiqi while on the train!!! (: YAYEEEE huiqi replied! and i felt so overjoyed ((((((( : so speaking of sms-ing, you can sms me!!! i know you miss me :D so all you have to do is drop me an sms and you'll get a prize! haha jk. no prize. unless you consider a reply from me a prize (: haha! but seriously, it will really make my gloomy (weather-wise only) days brighter! :D I MISS YOU!!!
saw miniature versions of the city there. it was drizzling a bit so it was difficult to manage the cameras and stuff. we had 2 digital cameras and a video camera (that also takes pix haha) so each of us had to take turns. plus we were holding umbrellas and wearing 2 or 3 layers of clothes. (4 or 5 in mom's case hahah jk :D) it was obvious that karissa was immensly fascinated by all the mini versions! she was practically drooling over it. haha jk. while i was drooling over smth else (jk) she was happily taking solo pictures of herself with buildings that were almost the same size as her. (:
the magic ice world was cool! not just cool but FREEEEZING COLD! D: it was -8 degrees in that, uh, refrigerator? haha (: but seriously, if you haven't been to -8 degrees, you haven't been to COLD. after hastily stepping out from there, gibby and i felt so hot that we had to "shed" a layer of clothing! hahah (:
so things i've learned here so far:
1) do not ask for ketchup at fastfood restaurants. it cost us 35 euro cents, which is about 80 cents in singapore dollars! gah, should have brought some ketchup or garlic chili (hahahah : P) in our bags. jk.
2) smoke is everywhere, so dont breathe!!! D: every two steps i take, theres's a cigarette butt to be found on the floor! RAWRRRRR D: and people keep smoking everywhere! even in the toilet, the woman who was "facilitating" the payment (50 euro cents just to pee!! : O) was smoking in our faces! so the entire toilet stank ):
3) Dutch love ice cream too!!! (: oh, happYness! (btw i watched pursuit of happyness on the plane!) saw B&Js at the train station as well, next to burger king! and there's one quite near our hotel too! cooliOz! and i saw haagen dazs somewhere around here :D oh and heineken seems to be everywhere. not surprising. (hahah no link!!!)

HEYYO its day 3 here in the land of hamsters!!! (: haha! currently its 10:08 PM local time and 4:08 AM singapore time! i think we've somewhat adjusted to the time zone..? anyway! i have no idea when you guys will be able to see this post, and my previous one!!! our hotel has no internet access *SUCKY*, and the internet cafes aren't exactly uh, nice. D: so most probably this'll go up when we're in the airport, on our way from amsterdam to switzerland! (:
SO. im getting tired of all the smoke around! my lungs are probably 2 shades darker already, if Xray-ed ): and im getting tired of the cold. im wearing many layers already yet im still cold! my hands, especially. ): awww man i wish i had someone hot to hold my hand. haha. sigh. me dont like cold. ): and im even wearing 3 or 4 layers of clothes, making me look FATter : /
yesterday we went to the flower market in the morning! it was freeeeeEeeEeeeEzing cold!!! we saw a lot of cool flowers, including a venus fly trap! HAHAH : D wanted to see it "in action" but there were no flies around. they sold CANNABIS (aka marijuana) seeds or plants or dunno what thingy on the street-side! : O drug dealers!!! HAHAH. the cannabis plant is some kind of national symbol here i think. D: i keep seeing it all over the place!
after that we headed to museums like the rijks museum and the van gogh museum! and i totally didn't know "GOGH" was pronounce as "COCH" or smth like that : / haha, i always thought it was pronounce "GO" or something! : P we saw lots of famous paintings in the first museum by rembrandt, including the night watch. the paintings look so real yknow! up close they look oily and stuff (coz its oil paint, duh), but from afar they look ALIVE : O a bit scary sometimes, especially when it feels like the persons's watching you. O_O
i expected more from the van gogh musuem.. idk why, actually. but anyway, it was the same. rather boring..? but i saw the famous paintings like the sunflowers and the bedroom. (idk their titles! : P) i stared at a couple of interesting ones, and for awhile felt lost in the paintings. can't really describe the feeling (dont have the time either), but anyways it reminded me of my childhood secret ambition to be a painter : O okay, so now you know. not that i was ever good at it. (i wasn't) but painting when i was young gave me a secret joy (:
oh yeah, we sent video messages to a couple of people from the museum! there was this "send a video message" booth-like thing where you could take a few seconds to record yourself, then email the video to a couple of recepients. :D the sibs (siblings, haha) did a couple of videos and sent them to friends (: idk if anyone received it though, and how it turned out.
GUESS WHAT! the sun just set! and the time is: 10:19 PM!!! COOL right? this is actually the latest i've been up here. i've been sleeping sat like 7 or 8 PM the previous nights coz that means its 1 or 2 AM singapore time. today im particularly awake though. maybe its the sip of coffee mixed with hot cocoa i had this morning?
speaking of which, breakfast here is cooliOz. just cold cuts with cheese and bread and spread. haha :D there's ham and stuff, and then yummmmmmy GOUDA cheese i think. yknow gouda cheese from she's the man? yeah (: and the cold chocolate's really nice and rich too. not hot chocolate, cold chocolate. hurrr i prefer it hot though : P
today we took the train to HAARLEM and to the corrie ten boom house. it's this house where the jews hid during WW2. they builth this secret room inside the house! haha it was cool (: after that we had lunch and then grabbed a few stuff before catching the train to Zaanse Schaan. we took the wrong train, actually, but found our way in the end. :D the weather was PERFECT! wasn't too cold. YAY! we walked from the train station and as we approached we could smell CHOCOLATE! : OOOOOOOOO OMG it was heavenly!!! :D :D imagine just walking on the streets and suddenly you smell a strong and rich chocolate-y smell! *DROOOOLS* it turned out there was a chocolate factory around there. : O didn't see CHARLIE though! HAHAHAHAHAH : D
the place we went to (lazy to type the name out again) had windmills and basically just lived up to the common cliche of the netherlands being all about windmills and wooden clogs. took loads of pictures! btw, CAMSPAM is our new term. :D not camwhore. so yes, we CAMSPAMMED, as we have been since we got here! i have so many pics to upload when we get back!! HAHA (:
there was a cheese factory there too! AND THEY WERE GIVING OUT FREE SAMPLES! me and my sibs took all the cheese we could coz it was D-liscious! (: wanted to buy some to take home, but they're heavy and ex! SAD!
anyway we got lost again on our way back D: took the "wrong" train, which turned out to be the RIGHT train! but we only found that out when we had alighted : / ahhh. spent the waiting time listening to my trusty iPod and trying (and failing) to explain to my sister my math notes. i brought them along to study!!! and she was reading through the summation qns and couldn't understand some stuff. i bet i copied the wrong thing. : P heh.
one more thing, i haven't been studying at all!!! ): im doomed to fail my common tests!!! sigh. i brought my entire stack of phy and math notes okayyy. i think they'll remain untouched til we return to singapore though D: RAWR. i wish i could be like my sis : / she's been mugging on the train, while walking around, etc.! but that's a little too much right? right?! sighhh.
OK this is so freaking long already!! i miss the internet! why's this place so backdated anyway. ahhhh FREAKSHEEP. : P lolz i saw a black sheep today and it look freaky. hence the new ford freaksheeeeeep! : D hahah whatever.
